The Bishop Group at AE Realty doesn’t settle for mediocrity when it comes to hiring real estate agents. They seek the best and brightest talent in the industry, and those who are willing to work hard will be greatly rewarded.
“If you’re interested in joining a group of learning-based people committed to adding value to other people’s lives, you’re going to be coached and mentored at the absolute highest level and we have plenty of opportunities in which we’re going to invest in you,” said Carl Bishop, owner and broker of AE Realty.
AE Realty’s culture of family, commitment to its customers, and a willingness to help one another is what led realtor Jean Konieczny to the firm 3-1/2 years ago.
“I chose to work at AE Realty because of the leadership,” she said. “Carl changed my whole career for me when it came to real estate. It was a cut-throat environment at my former brokerage. Here, it’s a sense of family.”
The idea of investing in and empowering its real estate agents is exemplified in the role of Jason Bishop, director of staffing and expansion. “The training I offer is one-on-one coaching and on-call support. When our agents need help, I step in and try to make myself available to them daily,” he said.
Jason explained who an ideal realtor would be to flourish at the company. “If an agent comes in simply because they want to make a lot of money, then this is not the place for them. If you genuinely care about people, then you will do well at AE Realty.”
Mika Brugman, director of operations, said she has found great satisfaction is helping people become homeowners. “It’s much more important to get a family into a home than to receive a paycheck. That’s something I’ve learned here,” she said. “There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing a family get the key to their house and seeing the smile on their face that says, ‘This is where we’re going to make memories.’ ”
Cheo Cardenas, director of production, said AE Realty is looking to hire those who have what it takes to go above and beyond for its customers. “In real estate, 90 percent of agents don’t do the work, and they don’t find success,” he said. “We’re looking for the 10 percent of agents who do the work and who aren’t afraid to get on the phone and call leads and continue to work them. Those are the agents who find success at our company.
Cardenas is also aware of the special culture at AE Realty. “I feel like we’re a true family,” he said. “We help each other out. Anytime one of our agents is in a bind, someone else steps in to pick up the slack for them.”
Carl Bishop, meanwhile, would like to remind real estate agents that there are benefits when they get hired at AE Realty.
“We have a base line level of success. Everybody within two years or less makes approximately a six-figure income if they are committed,” he said. “It won’t be easy; it won’t happen overnight. But you can have success if you join our team.”
