Tell us about your background and how you came to Bella Vista Homes.
James: My dad was in the military and he served 26 years in the United States Air Force. I was born in Oklahoma. I was a military brat and went to 13 different schools by the time I was a senior in high school.
Now I oversee our sales staff and our marketing team throughout all 18 of our locations in New Braunfels and San Antonio.
Who are your typical clients?
James: Our typical home buyer is actually anyone! Anyone that is looking to purchase a home, we have something that can fit everyone’s needs. We have a wide range of prices. All the way from 170s – 180s, to $500,000.
Tell us about the quality of homes you build and customer care you provide to clients.
James: I’m proud to say we have one of the lowest warranty rates and open claims of any builder in the city. Our builders actually handle the warranty on the home as well. So they want to make sure they build the home right at the very beginning. We have 650 homes that are in the one to two-year time frame, as far as warranty, and as of today we only have 39 open claims. Which is one of the lowest out of any builder in the city of San Antonio and New Braunfels.
What is the process to purchase or build a home?
James: If someone is looking to purchase a home with Bella Vista or Princeton Classic Homes what they’re going to do is visit any one of our 19 locations…Growing to 23-24 next year. And they can come into one of our model homes and our sales professionals will do everything they can to help them find the next right answer in their home search, and that includes the financing side and finding the home site for them. We have select homes that we put on the ground all over for ready to move in buyers. Someone that is looking to relocate, coming in… we have a lot of military members coming in. We cater a lot to our military families that are coming into [San Antonio] again being Military City, USA that’s something that is highly important to us. We want to be known as the builder who serves those that serve others.
What’s the most rewarding part of your career?
James: The most rewarding part is that our sales teams get to be a part of something bigger than just them. Like I said earlier, this is the place that people will spend their Christmas, their Thanksgivings, they will watch children grow up in these homes. And we get to do that every day. I get to pour into other people, and it is incredibly rewarding for me to watch our team grow where it is today. Two years ago we were probably doing 250 homes and now we are on the break of doing 400-500 homes within the next year. We get to do that together.
