The Ellie Report in an exclusive interview with Isolda Sicina, Vice President of Sales for Meritage Homes in San Antonio, Texas.

Ellie Report: Tell us about your background and where you are from.

Isolda: I am originally from a small town, or was a small town, Eagle Pass, Texas, I was born and raised there, and come from a big family. About 16 years ago is when I got into new home sales.

Ellie Report: What is your role at Meritage Homes?

Isolda: At Meritage Homes, I manage the whole sales department. If you are walking into one of our beautiful model homes, you will come in contact with a member from our sales team. I help put together the team that we have now. I also help with the model homes in the decor, and on the front-end with development. I do a little bit of everything in helping out with our division.

Ellie Report: What areas of Texas does Meritage Homes build?

Isolda: We build all over Texas. In Dallas, Houston, and Austin. In San Antonio, we currently have 13 communities that we are selling.

Ellie Report: What makes your company unique?

Isolda: I think what makes Meritage Homes unique is the people. If you’re a builder, we all build with the same sticks and bricks. That can be duplicated. But, one thing you cannot duplicate is the people. We have an amazing group that we work with.

Ellie Report: Tell us about the energy efficiency that Meritage includes in homes.

Isolda: Meritage Homes prides themselves on being an energy efficient builder and innovative. We are one of the only builders in our price range in the San Antonio market that includes spraying foam insulation in all our homes.

Ellie Report: Who are typical/ideal clients?

Isolda: We have all sorts of buyers. We do cater to a lot of our Military. We sell to the first-time home buyer and to the move-it buyer as well. We start right under the 200’s and go up to $400,000 or $500,000 homes. So, we have a home for everybody in all sides of town.
